Two students from Xavier International School attended the welcoming ceremony for the repatriation of the remains of two French veterans of the Korean War, organized by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs of Korea.
Held at Incheon International Airport, the ceremony paid tribute to André Datcharry and Jacques Grisolet, honoring their sacrifice and dedication during the Korean War. Representing the school, the students expressed their gratitude and respect to the veterans who fought for the freedom and peace of Korea.
Jacques Grisolet, who passed away in November 2024, served in the Korean War from April 1951 to July 1952, and again from March to October 1953. André Datcharry, who passed away in March 2024, volunteered with the French Battalion of the United Nations Forces from March 1953 to August 1954 and continued his mission in Seoul after the armistice. Through this participation, Xavier International School honored the courage and commitment of these veterans and reflected on the enduring friendship between France and Korea.
