Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Admissions

What is the admission process?
Our admissions process is managed online through the Eduka platform, seamlessly covering everything from document submission to final review and tuition payment.

1. Online Application

- Create an account on Eduka and upload the required admission documents.
- Sign administrative forms, including the Parent Charter and Privacy Consent Form.

2. Student Screening & Assessment

- Francophone Students: Students currently enrolled in a French curriculum school will be assigned to their respective grade based on report card evaluation, without additional testing.

- Non-Francophone Students: An admission test (written and oral assessment) and an interview may be required.

3. Review & Approval

The Principal, Vice-Principal, Admissions Office, and homeroom teachers thoroughly review the submitted documents and assessment results to make a final admission decision.

4. Final Enrollment

Once admission is approved, the Finance Office will issue an invoice. Enrollment is finalized upon full payment of the tuition fees.
What are the criteria for student selection?
Admissions priority is determined based on the applicant's previous school type and French language proficiency (instructional language environment) as follows:

Priority 1: French-Language Schools (Highest Priority)

- Eligibility: Students transferring from accredited schools within France or AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) network schools worldwide.

- Assessment: Admission is evaluated through a review of report cards and academic records from the previous school, without a separate entrance exam.

Priority 2: French-Instruction Schools

- Eligibility: Students from schools outside France (e.g., UK, Germany, Canada) where French is used as the primary language of instruction or a main second language.

- Assessment: In principle, selection is based on document review and entrance examinations (written tests in French, English, and Mathematics, plus an oral French assessment). Additional language tests may be conducted depending on the school's circumstances.

- If the French test results do not meet our standards, supplementary language support classes may be recommended.

Priority 3: Non-French Curriculum Schools (Including Local Korean Schools)

- Eligibility: Students wishing to transfer from schools in non-French speaking countries or newly enrolling at the standard school-age level.

- Assessment: Applicants must take our school's written entrance exam and undergo an in-depth interview. These are used to comprehensively assess the student's ability to successfully follow our curriculum.

Waitlist Policy

If the number of applicants within the same priority tier exceeds the capacity for a specific grade, students will be placed on a waitlist and selected based on the order in which all required documents were completed.

An application is only considered official once all mandatory supporting documents have been submitted without any omissions.
When can students enroll or transfer?
Applications are accepted throughout the year.

However, for the September intake, final admission decisions are made after May 31st (the re-enrollment deadline for current students), taking into account overall class capacity and legal domestic student quotas.

Mid-term transfers during the academic year are strictly limited and subject to seat availability in the respective grade.

Furthermore, for non-French speaking students wishing to transfer mid-term, we strongly recommend enrolling before January to ensure adequate time for academic and cultural adaptation.
What are the eligible age groups for admission?
We currently accept students from Preschool (ages 4–5) through High School (Terminale).
Are there specific French or Korean language proficiency requirements?
There is no fixed minimum language level required for initial application.

However, depending on the student's language level, support programs may be provided, and specific eligibility will be detailed following an individual consultation.

Please note that in upper grades, most classes (except foreign language courses) are conducted entirely in French. Therefore, students with insufficient French proficiency may face limitations in admission.
Can students with Korean citizenship apply?
Yes. In accordance with relevant regulations, Lycée International Xavier can admit domestic (Korean) students up to 30% of the total capacity per grade.

Please refer to our Admissions Guidelines menu for detailed eligibility requirements.
