Two students from Lycée International Xavier attended the arrival ceremony marking the repatriation of the remains of two French veterans of the Korean War, organized by the Korean Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. This solemn ceremony, held at Incheon International Airport, paid tribute to André Datcharry and Jacques Grisolet, two French veterans who fought in the Korean War.

Present at the very beginning of this tribute during the arrival ceremony at the airport, the students wished to express, on behalf of the school, their deep gratitude and profound respect for those who fought for Korea’s freedom and peace.

Jacques Grisolet, who passed away in November 2024, fought in the war between April 1951 and July 1952, and again from March to October 1953. André Datcharry, who passed away in March 2024, volunteered for the French Battalion of the United Nations from March 1953 to August 1954 and continued his mission in Seoul after the armistice.

Through this participation, Lycée International Xavier wished to honor the commitment and courage of these veterans, while reaffirming the strong bonds of friendship that unite France and South Korea.
